P3.18.60 The COALA (Cure Oncogene-Addicted Lung Adenocarcinoma) research network: a nationwide consortium dedicated to improving lung cancer outcomes
Résumé
The French National Cancer Institute has proposed funding for research networks focused on cancers with poor prognosis. The COALA network, dedicated to oncogene-addicted lung adenocarcinoma, received funding of 3 M€ in 2024 for a period of five years, with the goal of improving the prognosis of this group of patients. One of the main challenges in thoracic oncology is to increase the survival of patients with oncogenic addiction. A better understanding of tumor biology has allowed the development of targeted therapies that are highly effective in terms of response rates and progression-free survival without being able to definitively eradicate the disease. The objective of COALA is to bring together physicians, surgeons, biologists, computer scientists, mathematicians and sociologists from 15 expert centers in France. By enhancing our understanding of treatment resistance and identifying strategies to overcoming it, the network aims to offer patients a better prognosis.[...]
