Efficacy of hospital inpatient topical treatment for severe adult atopic dermatitis

Résumé

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic pruritic inflammatory skin disease resulting from defects in the skin barrier and aberrant immune responses [1]. It is a common skin disorder that impacts quality of life, affecting approximately 2-10% of adults. Topical treatment of AD is limited by poor adherence. According to the European Guidelines, hospitalisation or systemic treatment should be considered in patients with severe disease who cannot be managed with topical therapy.
