Metasurfaces hold great potential to become a major actor in the next generation of coating materials with innovative functionalities and striking visual appearances. This talk presents unconventional visual effects achieved with disordered metasurfaces and provides important hints to the capabilities of metasurfaces to shape reflected light spectrally and angularly.
