Common and Differential Modes Filter for the PFC Boost AC/DC LED Driver

Almost the entire power conversion to switching mode, the systems generate electromagnetic noise. Passive LC type EMI filters are widely used to mitigate electromagnetic interference. This paper describes the design of an electromagnetic interference filter (EMI) for the AC/DC converter PFC boost powers the LEDs lamps in order to reduce the emissions conducted in common mode and differential mode meeting the limits of the standard CISPR 22 class B in the frequency range 150 kHz to 30 MHz. The simulation circuit is performed on LTspice Software, the system consists of the PFC Boost LED driver, the EMC filter, the line impedance stabilizer network (LISN). The LISN has been placed to the input and output of LED driver, even between the Bridge Rectifier and PFC Boost DC/DC. Then two Filters Types were chosen, in order to measure the attenuation and the disturbance in the leads. The comparison between the two filters in the total distortion harmonic and the disturbances conducted in the 10 Hz to 150 kHz frequency range was shown in the last part of this work.
