Cell-wall microdomain remodeling controls crucial developmental processes
Résumé
Plant cell function depends on plant cell shape.
Cell-wall microdomains are defined by local differences in cell-wall composition.
Cell-wall microdomains define local biomechanical properties and are subjected to non-polarized turgor pressure; cell-wall microdomains therefore define cell expansion and cell shape.
Cell wall-localized pectin-modifying enzymes and/or oxidoreductases can contribute to local cell-wall modifications.
Two models of molecular scaffolds enabling local positioning of plant cell-wall remodeling enzymes in discrete cell-wall microdomains are emerging.
